Nigeria is tipped as the early favorites to win the Africa Cup of Nations on social media
Nigeria has been widely praised on social media after beating seven-time Africa Cup of Nations champions Egypt in their opening clash in Group D.
Having dominated throughout, the Super Eagles netted the only goal of the game through Kelechi Iheanacho, with Mohamed Salah's side failing to mount a response.
Indeed, it was Nigeria who came closest to the next goal, with Taiwo Awoniyi's header tipped onto the bar superbly and Chidera Ejuke's strike also kept out.
Just one goal was enough, however, with the West Africans - led by interim boss Augustin Eguavoen - delivering the best performance of the tournament so far, the victory shot Nigeria to the summit of Group D.
Although Iheanacho scooped the Man of the Match prize at the end of the game, he singled out Nantes winger Moses Simon as another option for the award after his contribution in the attack.

Xavi pleased with display in Clasico with Real Madrid despite extra-time defeat
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said his team was now a match for anyone after taking Real Madrid to extra-time in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final.

Xavi said: ‘I’m sad and upset because the game was there for the taking. We had a bit of a complex at the start but once we got over that I think we were better than Madrid.
Chelsea Moves to the finals of the Carabao cup as they defeat Spurs in a 1-0 game.
It was a stunning 2 legged game for the blues in the London derby as they defeated rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a 1-0 (3-0 on aggregate) game.
Tottenham boss Conte faced criticism from supporters after handing the second choice Pierluigi Gollini a rare start in the semi-final second leg loss.
The move to leave out Lloris backfired, as Gollini was at fault for Antonio Rudiger’s winner as he failed to punch Mason Mount’s corner away.
